Artist's Description
Sunset in the desert. Beautiful location located in Tucson, Arizona that I was lucky enough to visit just before Halloween. As I traveled the 8 miles of winding roads, there were endless possibilities for a great image. After stopping in a few different spots I came across this beautiful view.
I decided I would try my hand at a compression shot using my 70-200mm lens. After setting my camera on my tripod I then decided to set my aperture to f16, knowing I would want to see the outline of the mountains behind the cactus with the lights from the town creating stars of light. I then exposed for my sunset and created a silhouette of the cactus in the foreground.
